DT | College Mentor Application

We are so excited you are applying to mentor one of our community's young adults and desire to walk alongside you the entire way. We seek godly adults with a heart to invest in these young adults through intentional conversation, application of Scripture, and consistent accountability as you pursue the presence of God. Your investment in their lives will help shape their understanding of God and be instrumental in their future. Our expectation is for you to commit to this mentorship opportunity for the entire school year and meet at least once a month with your mentee. That being said, some students will only want to meet for a season (for the summer, for a semester, etc.), while some will want to meet for a longer period. Ultimately, it is a decision that you and your mentee can make together. Please take your time to fill out the application below as you respond honestly and authentically to who you are. We will contact you shortly to schedule a time to talk further. If you have any questions, please contact Kaleigh Teskey at kbteskey@gmail.com.

MENTOR COMMITMENT

I am an active Stakeholder of Church of the City and faithfully attend worship.
I am willing to meet with church staff and leadership to discuss my application.
I understand that I must make a commitment to my mentee. I will communicate with and meet with my mentee on a regular basis as we mutually have agreed upon.
I will make my mentoring relationship a priority. I will intentionally set aside time for it in my schedule.
I will keep the mentee sharing confidential, unless it is necessary to share with someone else.
I will pray for my mentee and ask the Lord to deepen our relationship.
I will make every effort to keep my mentoring relationship ongoing, consistent and intentional. I will always ask God to be the center of it and bless it.
DISCLOSURE: PLEASE BE AWARE THAT MENTORS ARE NOT LICENSED COUNSELORS. THE PURPOSE OF MENTORING IS TO COME ALONGSIDE AND PROVIDE SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL PRACTICAL GUIDANCE. SOME ISSUES MAY MERIT THE NEED FOR A LICENSED COUNSELOR.
