About Steve & Amanda:
Steve and Amanda have been part of Church of the City for a year and a half and have spent the many years before that at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Green Hills. We both have followed Christ since childhood. Our youngest daughter just started college at High Point University in NC, and our oldest just graduated from UT Knoxville. We are "almost" empty nesters as our oldest is home for a gap year before dental school. Our kids went to school at St Paul Christian Academy, Brentwood Academy and Franklin Christian Academy. Amanda is an optometrist and Steve is in real estate. With our newly found free time, we look forward to serving others and are delighted to open up our home for a brand new community group.
Group Description:
Our location is about as far north and west as you can go and still have a Franklin mailing address. We are close to Steeplechase in the Warner Park area. Our group is open to young and old(er), married and singles, but we'd like to keep an adult focus, so no childcare is provided. Older kids who want to participate are certainly welcome. We'd love to foster a community group that builds relationship as we learn more about following Christ together, and just doing life with other believers.
Group Vision:
While we are open to the thoughts and desires of the group, we will focus first on growing community together, living life together and simply encouraging one another. Our intent is to have a topical study base, but we also want to keep the agenda open to do deep dives together on issues that individual members may be struggling with. If you have an issue you'd like to explore, just let us know by mid week and we'll notify the group so members can pray and bring their thoughts on the issue from both a Biblical and personal perspective. We are here to serve and encourage each other and we look forward to staying open to whatever God brings into our group.
